I know every day is not going to be a play day in our home. We have great days, and tantrum melt down days. We have snuggle days and sibling rivalry days. I have days that I feel as if I am Super-Mom, and other days I feel like Failure-Mom. But everyday I love being their Mom!
I know every day is not going to be fairy tale perfect, because let's face it, life is messy. My kids are learning, and truth is I am too. But I do believe that when we give each day to the Lord, He can turn even our failing days into something beautiful. He can make Everyday A Play Day!
I'm grateful for the friends and mentors who have been vulnerable with me in their journey of parenting, marriage and their pursuit of Jesus. I'm a better mom from the wisdom and encouragement they have shared.
My heart is to be that friend to others. The friend who will share vulnerably the tough obstacles, the victories, the stories of embarrassment, heartache, fears, and even dreams. I want to be the friend that cheers you on and encourages your heart as you love and pour out to
your family.
Let's walk together on this parenting journey, sharing the beautiful and messy moments of life!
Hello, I'm Holly, although my favorite name is Mommy.
I'm a wife, mother, homeschooling mama, and now, apparently, a blogger. I'm someone who has big dreams and big fears.
My husband, Jordan, and I have been married since 2005. We've lived in four different states and 15 different houses - yikes! We have two adorable kiddos who have brought more joy and love to our lives than we ever anticipated. They truly are our greatest adventure!
We inherited a "barn cat," named Baby (AKA Bougie Barn Cat). She is sweet, sassy and definitely not a barn cat! She likes to sleep on my tummy at night and sit in my lap during my morning coffee. Never did we dream we would become cat people. But Baby has won our hearts.
We also have chickens! This is an exciting and
terrifying new adventure! I am thrilled to be sharing "Lessons from the Coop." It is all about the life lessons and God moments we are experiencing while raising
our chickens.
A few things to know about me: My sanity is mostly dependent on the status of my home: clean=sane/messy=pure craziness!
I actually enjoy running. I love chocolate, drinking coffee, trying new recipes, writing, and reading a good book (though who has time for that?!)
I'm always game for all things homeopathy: studying it, using it, and teaching what I’ve learned to other homeschool families and friends!
Event planning, teaching, & writing fulfill my creative side.
We love hosting friends and family in our home, and my husband is always up for a party!
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a country singer. I'm proud to say that I've stood on the stage and sang at the Grand Ole Opry (with only my family as witnesses, of course)!
Above all, I love Jesus and am trying to see Him in the midst of my chaos, in the faces of my sweet family, and
in all those I encounter each day.
